Frequently Asked Questions - Self Move * Pack * Store
1. How can I tell what size portable storage unit to order?
It depends on the density and volume of the items to be stored. Generally, the following guidelines can be followed:
12’ unit: One bedroom apartment or condo.
16’ unit: Two bedroom apartment, condo or small home.
20’ unit: Three bedroom home or larger.
2. Are my valuables secure from weather if the container is stored outside?
Yes. The container is weatherproof and designed for exterior use in extreme
climates, both hot and cold.
3. If I need some packing boxes or other moving accessories, do I have to go someplace to get them?
You can either pick up the boxes at our location or let us know what you need when you call to reserve your portable storage unit, and we’ll deliver the boxes with the unit.
4. How can I find out if keeping a portable storage unit at my home or office is allowed?
Contact your homeowners association and/or local code enforcement agency. Some homeowners associations and local ordinances limit the amount of time a Go Mini can be kept at your site. Even in cases where limitations exist, allowances are made for you to accomplish your move with a portable storage unit just like with any other method for moving.
5. I like the idea and economy of moving with a portable container. But, if I don’t want to pack and load myself,
do you have help available?
Yes, we do offer packing and loading services through our professionally trained movers.
6. If I fill up my portable storage unit and need more space, can I get another one quickly?
Yes. Please call us as soon as you recognize the need and we’ll schedule a delivery as soon as possible.
7. If I need to get something out of the storage unit while it’s in stored at your warehouse, can I get to it?
Yes. We normally ask for four to eight hours advanced notice in order to bring the container to an area for you to access.
